Algorithm for decoding error correcting codes with dynamically adapted parameters

The development of an adaptive system is an important trend in the error correcting coding. The increase in number of the system’s adaptation levels allows the system to be tailored to changing conditions in a communications channel and the channel resources to be distributed in an optimum way. The implementation of this noiseless coding system creating a set of codecs with dynamic switching is hardware-intensive. The cost increases in geometric progression with the increase in number of the adaptation degrees. It is an important and an urgent task to develop a principle for implementation of a noiseless coding system where the decoder’s complicity is irrelevant to the degrees’ number or the complicity increases linearly. The solution of such a problem is to be sought using examples of particular coding types. The suggested method to implement an adaptive coding system does not depend on the number of the adaptation degrees due to reduction to a regular structure. Besides, the decoder’s architecture allows its successful implementation within soft decoding systems; at this, the decoder’s complicity will increase insignificantly.
