Antijamming capacity analysis of Radio systems based on temporal probabilistic model «Radio Communication System – Electronic Warfare System»

This work focuses on antijamming performance of radio communication systems in conditions of electronic warfare. It is assumed that electronic suppression includes two consecutive stages – radio intelligence and jamming suppression. Bit error rate (BER) is estimated as the measure of radio communication system performance under electronic follower jamming. The authors determine spatial and probability bounds for jamming performance based on temporal probabilistic model with a certain interference delay value. This value is calculated as a sum of the following components: waveform propagation delay because of different directions of arrival (Tx-Rx, Tx-jammer-Rx), multichannel detection delay and energy accumulation time to achieve the target probability of detection. Taking into account all these facts the authors determine limitations on the number of frequency hops which can be canceled by follower jamming with a certain BER. The obtained results confirm the requirements to the number of hops in FH radio communication systems.
