This article describes the three bases of the course «Methods of fractal analysis», developed in the department of «standardization, metrology and certification» of the Moscow State University of Mechanical Engineering (MAMI). The theoretical basis included a work in the field of fractals, fractal analysis and fractal geometry, which are formed on the basis of lectures discipline. The program basis includes four computer programs: «Nova», «Gwyddion», «Fractan», «MyTestX». The first two are used for a scanning probe microscope and used as tools fractal analysis of the surface layer material. The presented features of their work and are identified strengths and weaknesses. In addition, the presented analysis of fractal algorithm processing, embedded in the program «Nova»: the high accuracy of the fractal analysis of mathematical and physical structures. The hands-on training on the analysis of time series data on the basis of Hirst's recommended program «Fractan», as described has a number of features. To prepare students for seminars developed a set of educational materials, forms a practical basis. The program «MyTestX» selected for computer evaluation of students' knowledge in the form of the test. She and the previously mentioned software products included in the block diagram of the practical session on the subject «The methods of fractal analysis». Formation and conducting classes on the subject «The methods of fractal analysis» in view of the proposed framework and block diagrams allow students to master the general cultural and professional competence training areas 221700.62 «Standardization and Metrology».
