Pointing and autotracking system is an integral part of an earth station for satellite communications channel by means a spacecraft in LEO or HEO. Also this system becomes very important when the earth station communicates with satellites in GEO but is hosted at vessel. For reasons of economic expediency is the simple Step-Track autotracking algorithm widely usable. The realization of this algorithm is provided for the use of the receiver, which measures the power of the satellite signal (special beacon or the information signal) and converts it to a DC-level voltage, coming next on the antenna controller. The main parameters of the commercially produced beacon receivers for use in autotracking systems of earth stations are given.
