Estimation duration of bemissing signal with unknown amplitude

Quasi-likelihood and maximum-likelihood algorithms of estimation of duration of a signal with unknown amplitude are considered in the paper. Into account the possibility of loss of signal in the adopted realization. Block-schemes of devices producing estimations are proposed. Comparison of technical or computer complication of implementation of synthesized algorithms was carried out. Analysis of synthesized algorithms was carried out. Characteristics of accuracy of estimations of durations were found. It is shown that the accuracy of the estimation can significantly quasi-likelihood yield maximum likelihood estimation accuracy. Maximum likelihood estimation takes into account the possible loss of signal. Estimation of duration of a rectangular impulse with oblique apex is considered as an example. Considered results of synthesis and analysis of algorithms of estimation of duration of propane giving a signal with unknown amplitude allow us to make informed choices necessary to assess the algorithm, depending on the requirements of the simplicity of the algorithm and the accuracy of the estimate.
