Increasing directivity of UWB antenna array by choosing optimal shape of driven pulse

A new approach to form UWB antenna array patterns with high directivity has been proposed in this paper. This goal is achieved by choosing optimal shape of input drive-pulse. The computed signal satisfies predetermined limitations on time length and spectrum bounds. The impulse response of antenna elements is used for calculation, what leads to correct taking into account antennas frequency characteristics as well as time-spatial. This approach is based on representing input signal as wavelet-series because of good time-frequency localization of wavelets. According to this method input signal for array of four TEM-horns was calculated and results were compared with those for short sinusoidal radio pulse.
