Radiation and scattering characteristics of phased array antenna with arbitrary loads and different metal-dielectric radomes

Mathematical model is developed for calculation of scattering and radiation characteristics of phased array antenna equipped with frequency-selective radome and arbitrary loads which is characterized by the scattering matrixes. The model is based on rigorous method of integrated equations and multi-mode representation of waveguides' fields . The model provides exact numerical calculation of radar cross section and radiation pattern of phased-array antenna. The model allows also to study of metal-dielectric radomes influence on radiation and scattering characteristics of phased-array antenna, it's interaction with elements. The model is applicable for effectiveness estimation of waveguide filter and radomes for reduction radiolocation detection perceptibility. Results of sum and differential radiation patterns of the phased-array antenna are presented at operating wavelength. The antenna has mechanical or electric beam steering and is covered by radomes of circular and tapered shapes. Estimation of potential reduction levels of radar cross section of the phased array antenna with waveguide filter and frequency-selective radomes is made at different wavelengths.
