Synthesis and analysis of algorithms of two-dimensional direction finding with use of volumetric array

Maximum likelihood estimations of two-dimensional bearing are synthesized basing on the results of measurements of the complex amplitudes and phases of the signals of circular array antenna with elevated central element. Quasi-optimal algorithm is developed for finding of elevation angle to the complexing of its estimates of circular antenna array and the phase shift of the central antenna. An index of efficiency in the form of the mean square error of the angle between the true and the measured direction finding. Linearization method derived the formula for calculating the potential accuracy. Modeling confirmed the main theoretical position.
