Evaluation of the influence of the radar LO signal phase fluctuations on the autocorrelation function of echo signal

This paper introduces phase noise impact estimation results on coherent LFM echo pulse processing in coherent radar receiver. These results have been obtained under conducting of three LO schemes based on direct analog synthesis, hybrid technology and scheme which has been obtained after synthesis worst case PM phase noise scenario. Phase noise estimation on optimal processing of one pulse with LFM leads us with results that main challenge in develop LOs is to decrease frequency depended phase fluctuations, which are mainly come up in reference stages of local oscillators. Increasing of flicker phase noise leads to increasing of range measurement uncertainty.
