Reception of a phase manipulated signal with smooth change of a phase against noise in the quadrature receiver with the entrance strip filter is considered. Analytical expressions for statistical characteristics of an estimation of range are received.
It is shown that the input strip filter filters distort the input signal by limiting its range, which leads to a deterioration of the statistical characteristics of estimating the time delays, namely the reduction of the bandwidth of input filter bias and dispersion of an assessment of distance increases. The use of a signal with a smooth change of phase increases the bias in time delay on ~ 16 percent and dispersion on ~ 18 percent, compared with the phase manipulated signal with perfect hopping phase.
